Last weekend I headed back up to the Lodge on Loch Lomond to photograph Christina and Nicola's big day, and it's one I'd been looking forward to for a long time! We had such a great time taking their pre-wedding photographs (with the help of their rescue dog Millie), and having photographed and played with Christina's band Run into the Night several times, I knew we were all in for a great party.

The entire day took place at Lodge on Loch Lomond, from the morning preparations right up until the midnight bus home. That gave us plenty of time to wander around when it got a little bit quieter, although a hard part with things like large group shots here are the customers and other guests wandering in to see what's going on. It was all good though, I have an ability to summon the strictest of high school teacher voices when the need comes to it to shift people along.

Shooting weddings this time of year is always great for evening shots, which I really encourage people to do. It doesn't take long and the light can be really beautiful at places. It's always a bonus when there's not as many midges about either. After dinner, we took a walk down to the jetty at the back of the venue for some really nice shots on the loch.

All of this beauty then descended into a great burst of chaos when the dance floor opened, and it was great to see the whole place jumping! I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a wedding's dance floor that packed for the whole night, it was really something to behold. There was even a few dance-offs and even I couldn't help myself in being part of one or two of them...
